"Both Value Odds Horses @ Tampa Bay Downs Race Six Finish 1-2 Nailing the Exacta and Trifecta - Bet $44 - Returned $2,319.90"
Value Odds Horses
(VO) do very well at all racetracks. They are a top three selection with morning line odds of 8-1 or
higher. They very frequently outrun their odds which are usually generous, overlay odds.
Take a look at the images below. Image 1
is a screen capture of the 6th race from Tampa Bay Downs

Rule: Whenever there are 2 VALUE ODDS horses like this we must always go to the 2 horse key strategy.
- 4 units to win on each
- $2 Exacta box of the 2 VO's
- $1 Exacta with the 2 VO's on top and all horses in Group A and B underneath.
- $1 Trifecta with the 2 VO's on top and all of Group A in the 2nd and 3rd slot of the tri.
Now take a look at Image 3 which is a screen
capture of that race's result.
- Total Bet = $44
- Total Returned = $2,319.90
- Total Race Profit = $2,275.90
- Win Bet Return = $38.00 four times = $152.00
- Exacta Bet Return = $378.00 for $3 = $567.00
- Trifecta Bet Return = Half ($1) of $3,201.80 = $1,600.90
Figuring + Overlay % - On these articles you will notice Overlay %. This is figured by simply
taking the post time odds and divide by the true odds. This example was
16 divided by 2 which equals 8.00 - We subtract 1.00 and convert this to a percentage = +700%.
The other was 18 divided by 3 which equals 6.00 - We subtract 1.00 and convert this to a percentage = +500%.
