Structured Daily Double Strategy (SDDS)

What is it? The daily double has been around so long that the modern day horseplayer just about forgot it still exists. It not only exists but it currently offers some good betting opportunities for long term profit if you attack it a certain way. The double is a wager involving the winner of two races that are run one after the other (you most likely knew that already).

How does it work? The Full Card Reports Structured Daily Double Strategy (SDDS) is designed to give you maximum return on expected results. This wager can be placed without any studying or toteboard watching. The wager can also be placed in advance since it does not depend on near post time odds. As soon as you get the daily scratches before the first race (usually around 20-30 minutes before 1st race post time) you can place your daily double bets for the whole day.

Where does it work? All tracks have daily doubles or sometimes known simply as "double(s)". Most tracks have a minimum of 2 daily doubles per card. Many have 3 doubles per card and some tracks have rolling doubles that span all of the races on the card! Your average investment with this strategy works out to be approximately $14.50 per race and this gives you fantastic coverage along with the needed leverage.

Why does it work? With track takeouts on win bets being raised at many tracks it really does make sense to look closer at the dual-race wagers. With these type of wagers the takeout is higher than win bets however once you split that takeout by 2 races (for the daily double) it works out to be much less! Your average win bet takeout at all tracks ranges from 15% to 18% for each race. The average takeout for daily double wagers range from 19% to 22% mostly. That works out to be only 9.5% to 11% per race.

Will I get an edge? With such a pool like the daily double you can have the advantage if you take it serious. The reason you can is because so much money is bet in the daily double pools without much regard to structure or construction of the wager. Also money flies into that pool from people betting on numbers, names, colors, jockeys, etc. People betting the early double are rushing to get the bet in. People betting the late double are taking a stab on bombs trying to recover lost bankroll. It's just a fact that in this day and age the majority of the bettors do not focus when they make a daily double wager. You will take advantage of that by focusing on this pool and often get what we call natural overlay payouts.

What do I use? The Structured Daily Double Strategy is constructed using the top 3-5 picks in various specific combinations on the Full Card Reports. You can use the Diamond, EVGold, Quick-F, Gold or Quick report. If you are betting a maiden race with first time starters it is suggested that you view the Diamond report. Otherwise any of our report formats will work just fine.

What do I need to know? In the table below: 1 = the top pick, 2 = the second pick, 3 = the third pick, etc. EXAMPLES; Where you see 1-1 it means the bet involving the top pick in both races of the double. Where you see 1-2 it means the top pick in the first half of the double with the second pick of the second half. 2-3 means second pick in the first half with third pick of the second half, etc, etc.

What bets will I make? You will make a total of 8 to 12 straight daily double wagers at the various dollar amounts shown for each.

What size bankroll do I need to have? There's a Regular Version for players with a "regular size bankroll" For those with a smaller bankroll there is a Light Version. And for those with a larger bankroll there is a Heavy Version.

What are the details? The (U218) version should be used with all daily doubles or, as an option, those that have a total of up to 18 horses starting (after scratches) combined for both races. Add up how many horses will be racing in both halves of the double after scratches. If the total is 18 or less use the U218 strategy version. If the total is 19 or more it is suggested that you use the U230 version (this is an optional version). The U230 version can be used for doubles that have between 19 and 30 horses starting and/or in any double wager where you desire broader coverage. If you desire a trim bet you can still use the U218 in larger fields. Conversely you can use the U230 in smaller fields if the situation warrants. This depends on your taste in wagering style and the race opportunities.

Note: Remember the basic money management rule: Never bet more than 5% of total bankroll on any one wager.
