"Power Profit Angles"
All of the angles in this article show a nice profit over the long haul in a study made
at all tracks. All of these angles can be easily found using the Full Card
Reports' Diamond or Quick-F reports.
At times we like to
assign 3 or 4 letter acronyms to an angle. This is one of those times.
Overlay Jockey/Trainer Angle (JTA)
- Must have both the
 and  icons
OR
 icon
- Near post time odds must be 8-1 or higher.
Pedigree Dirt Angle (PDA)
- Must have the
 icon.
Horses with this icon have the best pedigree for today's distance. There is only one of
these for each race. We have found that these horses often finish in the money frequently and sometimes win
at huge odds.
- Near post time odds must be 8-1 or higher. You will see some horses at 20-1 to 30-1
finish in the money so don't be afraid of huge odds.
- Use these qualifying horses in your exotics (exactas, trifectas, superfectas)
Value Pace Angle (VPA)
- Must have the
icon.
This icon is given to a horse with an early and mid pace advantage. You will find
an average of a few of these horses on every card.
- Near post time odds must be higher than Full Card Reports' true odds AND/OR be at
least 8-1.
Trainer - Odds - Class Angle (TOCA)
- Must have the top figure in either the Total Class rating overall (TL) or
Recent Class (RE). This can easily be found under the CLASS TL*RE section
of the Diamond or Quick-F reports.
- Near post time odds must be 8-1 or higher. You will see some monster win
mutuels with this angle.
- Must have the
(special trainer move) icon. When a trainer uses a pattern that is successful
it becomes a solid move when the horse has a top Full Card Reports
class rating.
Pedigree Turf Angle (PTA)
- Look at races run on the TURF at a distance of 7 furlongs or longer.
- Must have the
(best turf pedigree) icon. Only 1 horse in every turf race gets this icon.
These horses have the best turf breeding in the race. This icon can stand alone
as it gets alot of turf winners at very nice odds. The majority of the betting
public simply does not look at pedigree in turf races where it is extremely
important.
- Near post time odds must be 8-1 or higher OR near post time odds are
higher than Full Card Reports' true odds. You can accept any horse with
the turf pedigree icon that offers value at the windows.
Wet Track Angle (WTA)
- The track condition must be labeled as either "sloppy" or "muddy".
- Must have either the
or 
icon. Only one horse per race will have the W icon. This horse has the
best wet track pedigree. The WET icon will be listed for each horse who runs
well on a wet track.
- Near post time odds must be higher than the Natural Odds for the race.
Natural odds are each horse's equal chance to win a race based soley on how
many horses are starting in the race.
Here is a listing for number
of starters with the correlating natural odds of that race:
4 horses 3-1, 5 horses 4-1, 6 horses 5-1, 7 horses 5-1,
8 horses 7-1, 9 horses 8-1, 10 horses 9-1, 11 horses 10-1,
12 horses 11-1.
Quite often a horse with a good wet track record runs over a
wet track and wins at high odds. You gain a fantastic edge when you have
one of these horses who is being offered for higher odds than his natural
flat odds to win that race.
Overlay Trainer Angle (OTA)
- Must have the
(overlay trainer icon) AND/OR the
(special trainer move) icon. These trainers have a distinct pattern of winning at big odds.
Each icon alone does well but you will also see many value priced winners with
both of these icons.
- Near post time odds must be 8-1 or higher.
